Sorry I haven't put anything new up over the weekend. It was a busy one. Still busy. But I've popped in to share some great spooky photos I took this summer on a visit to the ghost town of Bodie. What better timing than October, eh?

I might have already shared this photo, or a similar one. It's a faded Halloween Jack-O-Lantern in the window of an old school room.

This ghostly lady is painted on the side of ... I think it's an old coffee grinder in the general store. You can't enter most of the buildings. It's being held in a state they call "arrested decay", still the way it was abandoned long ago, but protected in as much as they don't allow the buildings to fall over or lean any more than they already do. Most of these shots were taken through glass windows.

Another ghostly veiled woman.

I love all the bright colors faded with time and dust.

The old church.

Love this shot. Will it be..... Door Number One? Or Door Number Two?

This bed was in the bedroom of one of the few houses that allowed you to walk through it. The rooms with furniture were blocked to entry, but you could look through the open doors. Look closely and you can see this bed is covered with coins. Hmmm, it leads me to some speculate as to the use of the bedroom.

A room in the mortuary. Waiting for death?

Old frame, old painting, old wallpaper. Now this is REAL shabby chic.

I started with a Jack-O-Lantern, I thought I'd end with a Jack-O-Lantern.

I thought these photos would make fantastic bases for some collage art. As long as you let me know which photo you wanted to use and don't use it for sale purposes (or, I suppose, at least not for multiple sale purposes if you wanted to sell the original collage), I'd love to see what could be done with them. Anyone want to give it a try and share the results?

If you'd like to see more, outdoor shots and family fun, I put more photos of Bodi up on Beach Treasure.
